Last week was my first week at my internship at Cookson Communications, and overall, I am really enjoying it. The second I arrived all of my coworkers and my boss made me feel super welcome, and I was immediately pulled into their staff meeting. While I had no idea what was going on, I was assured by my boss that I was not supposed to know what was going on, and that after a few days, I would understand.
My supervisor decided that it would be a good idea to have a summer long project, in addition to the smaller projects that I will be working on day-to-day. My summer long project is a research project into the history of the property that Cookson recently moved to, which is a home constructed in 1780. My goal is to have something that we can give to clients as a fun way to allow them to have a personal connection to Cookson.
In addition, I have also begun to be involved with a few different projects at Cookson. I joined my supervisor and coworker on a trip to an adult education center to film a testimonial with a woman engaged in courses through the school, and I assisted with interviewing her. I was asked to move through the video and choose a few timestamps that stood out to me, which I think should make the final cut! That document is attached below.
I have also been editing articles and publications, as well as beginning to write one from scratch this week. One of my main tasks was to create a press release and website biography for a new doctor working at Focused Eye Care, a client of Cookson. I will continue to update when this work is published!
