Overall, we had a lot of good discussions in my peer review group. My group was made up of Evan, Brady and Cole. We started off by talking about Evan’s story, to which most of us commented on grammatical errors that needed to be corrected. We went through some of the structure of his article as well, and Cole and I agreed that some of his paragraphs could benefit from being reorganized.
Next, we moved onto my article. Evan and Cole explained that I should use my subject’s last name rather than first name when referring to him, and that some of my paragraphs were a bit chunky and should be broken up. There was also a quote that everyone agreed should be removed.
Next, we moved on to Cole’s article. His article was very well written, and Evan, Brady and I all agreed on the same feedback. We agreed that Cole needs to find his focus, and instead of focusing on the work of his subject, he needs to angle it in on the subject themself.
Finally, we took some time to look at Brady’s article, which mainly needed some grammatical work. He did not have a ton written, but from what he had, he was off to a great start. I think that all of us had an opportunity to learn from each other’s writing while working together, and that is what made our peer review group so productive.
